It’s in your hands

These iconic words from Nelson Mandela call each of us to do what we can — with what we have — to make a difference.

This Mandela Month, Issy Geshen Lamont Home invites you to honour Madiba’s legacy by participating in our Dignity in Every Basket campaign — a heartfelt drive to restore hope and dignity to the elders in our care.

Through our Grocery & Dignity Drive, we are collecting not only food essentials, but adult nappies, toiletries, medical essentials and personal care items that enable our 69 elders to live with dignity every day.

Many of our elders rely on these basics to feel comfortable, cared for and respected — yet we cannot meet this need without your support.

  • Every basket you help fill is a gift of nourishment, hygiene, and self-worth.
  • Every donation is a tribute to Madiba’s vision of compassion and community.
  • Every share, repost and conversation extends the circle of care.

This July, as we honour Madiba’s legacy of compassion and justice, we ask you to walk with us in kindness.

How You Can Help:

  • Donate groceries, adult nappies or personal care items
  • Sponsor a dignity basket (valued at R500) – we have 69 elders in our care. Every contribution, big or small, goes directly to caring for our elders.
  • Spread the word on your socials using: #DignityInEveryBasket
