The festive season has long since been a tradition of surrounding yourself with those you care about most. These traditions are the centrepiece of the holidays and bring people together each year. Music, food and entertainment all come around annually to remind everyone the holiday season is in the air.
At Issy Geshen Lamont Home for the Aged, the elders know these traditions better than most, as they helped pass this down to the generations and to give meaning to family, traditions and ubuntu.
Once again, our elder's Christmas Lunch was a huge success that would not have been possible without the generosity of each individual and company who donated to this worthy cause. We thank the gracious team at @ukhozi_fm Jabul'ujule, who presented Christmas gifts to the elders. We were also fortunate to be gifted again by Mrs Lindiwe Meyiwa and Ms Nozipho Mngadi, in collaboration with the Durban High School, who joined our lunch and brought Christmas gifts for all our elders. The Durban ICC donated our lovely lunch ingredients while the Pick n Pay Umlazi Megacity team donated a shopping voucher towards the lunch.
To everyone, corporates and individuals, who heeded our call and contributed to a meal for a resident during Christmas 2022, we thank you.
